With a focus on integrating public and private participation in art, and efforts to expand the worlds street art and murals, Like Minded is dedicated to continuing bringing art in places that need and accept it.
In 2006, Artists Michael Ortiz and Jon Lamb created Like Minded — an art collective and print shop based in Denver, Colorado. The business grew quickly, with the duo securing clients, collaborators and connections throughout Colorado, the U.S. and certain places around the globe. In 2009, Michael and Jonathan moved their studio to the heart of Denver’s RiNo Art District, and since have emerged as leaders in the city and district’s cultural and artistic renewal projects.
Like Minded continues to expand its reach — in RiNo, in Denver and in cities across the United States and around the world. In 2013 alone, Like Minded completed several prominent, large-scale mural projects in Denver as part of their growing efforts with the cultural programs established in Denver and Like Minded did a continuation of their art project in Denver by bringing it to Art Basel Miami in December for the Caleidoscoop Art Show collaborating with international artists in one of the world’s largest annual public art shows.
Like Minded will continue to provide art and paint walls for Like Minded people and in 2014 completed some great murals including a 125 ft wide piece of art located in Denver merging Jamaican culture into Colorado culture, and the great honor to paint a dedication mural to the great Robert Nesta Marley (formerly known as Bob Marley) for the prestigious Tuff Gong studios in Kingston, Jamaica. In 2015 Michael Ortiz and Jonathan Lamb have painted many large projects including the four-story Nativ Hotel in downtown Denver, an eight story complex in Aurora, Colorado, and coordinated the largest mural festival in Denver, CO producing over sixty-five murals with world class artists.
